A member of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth for 68 years, died March 9, 2022 at age 87. A native of Pittsburgh, she was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Catherine (Newell) and her siblings Catherine, Teresa, Joseph and Eileen. She is survived by nieces and a nephew and a close friend Antoinette Amity. Sister taught upper elementary grades and high school in Michigan and Pennsylvania. She also served as provincial treasurer/councilor, finance officer for Mercy Hospital, Altoona, PA, accounting clerk and treasurer at high schools in Ohio and Pennsylvania, and as office manager for Focus on Renewal, McKees Rocks, PA. Family and friends are welcomed at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 3:00 PM until the Memorial Service at 6:30 PM. Due to COVID restrictions, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. Burial will be private.
