Of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania died at home on June 18, 2022. She was 79 at the time of death. Carol was born March 22, 1943, in Detroit Michigan the daughter of Frances (Gabon) and Joseph Szott. Carol was the eldest of four girls. She graduated from Mt. Nazareth Academy in 1960 and joined the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. Carol attended Carlow College where she earned a Bachelor of Education. She served as a teacher, principal, human service administrator, and most recently manager of facilities. Carol had the good fortune to travel to the lands of the Bible and she developed a deep spirituality in her life. She was especially fond of animals and often enjoyed the company of a companion dog.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Susan and Mary Lou, and brother-in-law, Howarth Dodge. Carol will be missed by her sister Diane Dodge; nieces Dawn Dodge, and Denise Holston; nephew Zach Szott, cousins, Sister of the Holy Family of Nazareth, and good friends.

Carol elected to have a "green" burial and was laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA on June 21, 2022.
