Sandra A. “Sandi” Johns, age 75, of O’Hara Township, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital after a series of health struggles which she fought bravely to overcome. 

She was born in Lawrenceville, PA, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth “Betty” Sumic.Sandi was a dedicated and loving mom to Jason Marmarella (Scott) and a sister to Joseph Sumic (Ursula). She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Johns; her son, Jeffrey Marmarella; and her parents.

A devout Catholic, Sandi found joy in her church family, regularly attending masses and functions. Traditions were important to her, especially during the holidays when giving well-thought-out and personalized ‘prizes’ brought her immense happiness. Whether it was a specific, meaningful item or a large plateful of assorted cookies she enjoyed baking, she always gave from the heart. If you were on her list, you could count on receiving a delivery of homemade paczki at the beginning of Lent. Her warm and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation private. Family and friends are welcomed to attend a Funeral Mass at Christ the King Parish, St. Joseph Church, 342 Dorseyville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215 on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Allegheny Cemetery.
