Age 93, of Pittsburgh, on Monday, May 8, 2023. He was born on August 28, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the wonderful husband of Leah Carlisle. They celebrated 64 years of marriage. Father of Debra Schmidt and the late Lance Carlisle. Grandfather of Leah (Albert) Erwin. Great-Grandfather of Benjamin and Greyson Erwin. Brother of Wayne Carlisle and the late Claire and Lorraine.

Russell was a caring man who always offered to help his family and neighbors. He was an Army Veteran who served his country in the end of World War II as well as the Korean War. He helped raise his granddaughter, Leah Jean from the age of four. He would spend his days playing music and fixing odds and ends up around the house or garage. He enjoyed hunting up into his late 70's. Every morning you could find Russell getting his coffee and breakfast at Dog n Burger. The love he had for his family is something we will always cherish in our hearts.
