Age 89, of Point Breeze. Passed peacefully, on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Paul was born and raised in Mayo, Ireland and came to the United States in 1955. Paul retired as a laborer with the Local Union #373. He was a member of the All-Ireland Athletic Club and the Pittsburgh Ceili Club. Paul loved to be around people and dance to Irish music with his wife, Mary.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years of Mary (Donohue) Lydon. He was the son of the late John and Ann Lydon; brother of the late Peter, Mary "Ginger", Michael, John, Patrick, Tom, Jimmy, Martin and Tony; brother-in-law of Johnny (Tina) Donohue of Ireland, Coilin (Vera) Donohue of Oxford, UK and Annie (Michael) Gannon of London, England; loving cousin of Nellie (Michael) Mannion of Shadyside; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of UPMC Canterbury Place and Family Hospice for the compassion and care that they have provided for Paul.

Family and friends are welcomed at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Mary Magdalene Parish, St. Bede Church on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
