Of Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away on May 3, 2024.  He was 95 years old. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Adolph and Zita Fuhs.  He is survived by his sister, Trudy Miller, son Thomas Fuhs and spouse Cheryl, son Kurt Gensert and spouse Julie and Grand daughters Grace and Laura Gensert.

'Paul' performed active military service with the Navy during the Korean War from 1950 – 1954 aboard the USS Rockbridge.  Paul was a Quarter Master during his service and had fond memories of his time both aboard and ashore throughout Europe.  After being honorably discharged, he returned to Pittsburgh and served as both a Firefighter and Police Officerwith the then new K9 division.

When not at work, Paul enjoyed yoga, walking, and long discussions about current events.  He was a proud supporter of his Alma mater, Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh.

A viewing and service will be held on Thursday, May 9 at the Walter J. Zalewski Funeral Home on 216 44th Street, Pittsburgh, PA with a military burial at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Following the funeral, there will be a private luncheon.  People wishing to attend either the service or wake should contact the family for more information.
