Passed away peacefully at age 94 on Monday, March 13, 2023. Born February 12, 1929, she spent her entire life in Lawrenceville. Wife of the late William J. Istone Jr.; Daughter of the late Stanley and Jessie Strzalkowski. Loving mother of William (Lynn), Robert (Charity), Janice Istone and the late Ronald. Proud Grandma to 5 grandchildren Michaela (Stephen), Robert (Susanna), Harrison (Katherine), Jessica (Anthony) and Emily (Chris) and 8 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Lorraine Sawicki.

The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the staff of the Renaissance Unit at UPMC Canterbury Place for the loving care they provided the past 5 years and to the UPMC Family Hospice staff who cared for her in her final days. It was a long goodbye with grace and dignity.

Family and friends are welcomed at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 8:00-9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Parish, St. Augustine Church at 10:00 a.m.
