Of Penn Hills, PA died on November 18, 2021, at the age of 91 years. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 25, 1929. The daughter of Philomena and Anthony Miele, she grew up in East Liberty and attended Westinghouse High School. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard "Sheiky" Perla in 1993. She is survived by her four children, Rosemarie of Pittsburgh, Richard (Pam) of Penn Township, Cindy (Bob) Connelly of Penn Hills and Joanne (Marty) Panaia of Penn Township. As well as two sisters, Susie Olivo and Mildred Gonnella, preceded in death by sister, Rosemary Tedesco (surviving husband Ralph). Peggy was fortunate to have nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren whom she adored. She will be remembered by her talent of lighting up a room with her jokes, her bingo skills, and love of the dance floor. She passed peacefully with her loved ones by her side. She will be missed almost as much as she will be remembered. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to mother's caregivers and Amedisys Hospice. Family and friends are welcomed at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 1-8 p.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Angels Parish, St. Augustine Church on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. The family suggests face masks to be worn if not fully vaccinated. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to RP Missions, (https://www.classy.org/give/152461/#!/donation/checkout) where her grandson, Lucas Hanna and his family are serving as missionaries in Africa or to a charity of your choice.
