Surrounded, by his adoring family, at the age of 83, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 and was welcomed into the loving arms of Almighty God. Mickey is survived by his beloved wife Charlotte; children, Michael, Mark (Dawn) Riegner, Lisa (Tony) Pilewski; grandchildren, Neil (Amanda), Natalie, Nicole Pilewski and Kathleen Riegner; great-grandchild, Madison Pilewski; goddaughter, Leslie (Matthew) Koch, siblings, Dan (late Mame), Patrick (Susan) and the late Sharon; and many nephews and nieces. He was the son of the late Elmer (Agnes) Riegner. Mickey was born on the North Side of Pittsburgh on December 5, 1937. He was a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He worked at the Pittsburgh Press and Allegheny County Clerk of Courts. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and sharing stories over Iron City Beers. Mickey loved cheering for his grandchildren at sporting events and often babysat his great-grandchild, Madison. Mickey was one of a kind and lit up every room he entered. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Family and friends are welcomed at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Mass at Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Boniface Church, 2208 East Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212 on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and/or Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, two causes that were dear to him.
