Loraine lived a full life, she was a first child, a big sister to 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She was part of a vibrant Polish community growing up surrounded by an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Life and activities centered around the church with clubs and organizations which she was involved in. She was a dancer with the Polish Falcons which performed at different events. She left school early to help her family and worked at several different positions at Gimbles she also delivered telegraphs to offices.

When war came, her brothers were too young to enlist so she applied to the government and moved to Alexandria, Va. to live with an Aunt. She was first employed in the Machine Records department in the Munitions Building. She was picked to learn the IBM key punch machine, she was then transferred to the Pentagon where she worked at placing the names of the soldiers, killed, wounded or missing onto the key punch cards. After the war she returned to Pittsburgh.

Working at an insurance company she met the man she would marry. After 3 years of dating she married Mike. They ended up having 3 children 2 girls and 1 boy in that order. They start their lives in Lawrenceville but move to Polish Hill when they started a family. Loraine continued to be involved in the community, singing on the choir, joining the P.T.O. and also served as President once or twice, she also was an active member of the VFW  Jene Mayer Post in Bloomfield, she also taught cooking and baking classes at the Boys Club in Lawrenceville. She also worked periodically as a secretary for different businesses to help out with family finances.

Thru her whole life she was always there to help those who needed it. She spoke Polish and that helped her to assist immigrants who needed help with paperwork for citizenship, or any kinds of documents. If you needed something you could let her know and she would track it down, if you needed gifts for charity events she was great at getting donations. She was her husbands care giver and fought for him at the VA. She stayed close to her faith all of her life with a special affection for Angels and  St.Theresa.
