Obituary

Age 83, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday June 25, 2024, surrounded by family, after battling a recent illness. Cookie was born in Pittsburgh on January 14, 1941 to the late Anthony G. and Katherine "Katie" (Cessar) Heim.  Except for the last few years living at Morningside Crossing, Cookie lived most of her life at the family home on Post Street in Lawrenceville.    Cookie's passion was volunteering and spending time with cherished family, neighbors and friends. She volunteered over 40+ years combined at St. Francis Hospital, Forbes Hospice, West Penn Hospital and Children's Hospital. Her faith and pastoral care were extremely important to her. Cookie found joy in planning and experiencing numerous bus and airline trips over many years. Some of these destinations included trips to Europe, New York, Canada (Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre), and very much looked forward to the annual family reunion every summer to Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio. Cookie was frequently heard saying "If you don't have a grandma or need a grandma I will be your grandma."  Also, "I didn't miss much!" and echoing St. Padre Pio's famous quote of " Pray, Hope and Don't worry!"

Cookie is the wife of the late Adam T Peltz, who passed away on June 20, 2000. She is survived by her loving children, Robert (Karen) Peltz, Barbara Krebbel and Brian (Milica) Peltz.

Cherished grandchildren, Krystalyn, Lauren, Marissa, Alexander, Nikolas and Jasmine Peltz, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Also many wonderful neighbors and dear friends.

Cookie was also the sister of Robert "Bob" (the late Judy) Heim, the late Anthony "Joseph" (Anna Mae) Heim, Theresa Margaret "Peggy" Heim and Richard "Denny" (Cheryle) Heim.

Family and friends are welcomed at the Walter J Zalewski Funeral Home, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. and Friday, June 28, 2024 from 2-8 p.m.
