Age 79, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
Born on September 3, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Sue was the daughter of Herman and Julia Isaak. Sue spent her entire life in the Bloomfield neighborhood, where she attended St. Joseph’s grade school and St. John’s high school.
Sue was married to her true love and partner in life, Paul J. (“Max”) Sciullo for 60 years. Together they have provided an example of love and care that has served and inspired all who have been blessed to know them.
Sue is reunited in heaven with her parents, sister Patricia Garrison, brother Herman “ Herky” Isaak and her beloved son, Pittsburgh Police Officer Paul J. Sciullo II, whose life, service and sacrifice she has honored faithfully through devotion and humble strength.
She is survived by her husband, Max, dear sisters Margaret “Peg” Sciullo, Grace Isaak and Ruth (Mike) Close, and, daughters Laura (Eric) Zahren and Julia Mullen, beloved grandchildren David Mullen, and Luke, Anna and Mark Zahren, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews and dear friends, including members of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office. Sue was a constant advocate for all law enforcement members, spouses and families, who remained always in her prayers.
Sue embodied selfless love and care for all: family, neighbors, friends, community and strangers. She reminded us every day that the simple things in life are the most important, powerful and lasting, and that a smile and blessing shines an inextinguishable light. Sue was loved by all, and through the many she touched, her light will shine on.
Per Sue's request, there will be no public visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, St. Augustine Church, 225 37th Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201 on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Bloomfield Food Pantry, 4921 Mend Way, Pittsburgh PA 15224, 412-578-5923, bloomfieldpantry.org.
