Joseph Patrick Decker, 72, of Greentree, Pittsburgh, PA passed peacefully on Saturday, July 29, 2023, after battling both cancer and Parkinson's for too many years.

Joe was the eldest son of Joseph P. and Lilian Hlubny Decker.  He was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 16, 1951.  Joe graduated in 1969 from Cardinal O'Hara High School in Springfield, PA in 1973, where he was a lettered cross-country athlete, and from West Chester College in 1973, where he was active in student government, cross country, and soccer.  Upon graduation he moved to Washington, PA to work for Social Security until graduating in 1981 with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh's School of Law .  After law school, Joe joined a small law firm for a few years before establishing his own civil law practice with a focus on Social Security and family law.  Of note, Joe was a founding member of CLASP, the Collaborative Law Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Joe is survived by his wife Lynda (Lyn) Myslinski Decker and two sons, Trevor J. Myslinski Decker and Joseph P. Young.  He is also survived by his two brothers John and David Decker and two sisters, Lilian K and Kathy Decker, and cousins and many nieces and nephews.  His parents, Joe and Lilian, and his elder sister Mary Decker predeceased him.

Joe was a kind and generous man who always went out of his way to help people.  He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
