Obituary

Husband of 64 years and creator of a large, devoted to each other family, passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2021 at the age of 86. He was the son of Helen (Gubanic) Lasky; husband of Joan (Zuratovich); father of seven children, Joan Saba (Mark), John Jr. (Mary Ann), Elaine, Stephen (Kathleen), Peter (Emily), Elizabeth, and Christopher (Rosemary); and grandfather of eleven and great-grandfather of one. A lifelong Pittsburgher, Jack was born and raised in Etna and always stayed true to those roots. His status as a Veteran of Foreign Wars was very important to him, having served in Berlin with the elite section of the American Security Agency. He was proud to be a registered architect, contributing to projects as grand as the Alcoa Building as well as to small family businesses, getting equal satisfaction from both. An avid golfer for 65 years, he never tired of refining his game. The most significant part of Jack is his family. He married his high school prom date, Joan Katherine, his life's love who sadly passed away in January. He was deeply proud of their children and felt great satisfaction on the frequent occurrences when the entire clan got together. Friends, relatives, and neighbors were drawn to the Lasky home to take part in the never ending welcomeness and robust conversation. Details of a celebration of Jack's life will follow. In lieu of flowers, Jack would have appreciated support of the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh at http://humaneanimalrescue.org/donate/ .
