Maloy
June 27, 1932 – November 19, 2021
Age 89 of Bloomfield, passed away on Friday November 19, 2021, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Dear son of the late Sheldon and Elizabeth (Mangieri) Maloy. Devoted brother of Pat (Joe) Diulus and the late Paul (Elaine) Maloy. He is also survived by a thoughtful and caring niece Michele. Left in sorrow John's loving life long companion, Toni Stasiak and family, Nancy Stasiak, Eileen (the late Joe) Ciummo, Ken and Correne Stasiak, Christopher (Antoniette), Liam Murphy and Michael (Lori) Murphy. Lovingly remembered by his dear nieces and nephews from Chicago and beyond, Jim and Sue Mette, Pam and Chip Kramer, Ken and Maryann Mette, Connie and Raul Becerra and Laura Maloy. Close and dear cousin to the Boggs and Mangieri families. Growing up in Bloomfield, John and his buddies could always be found playing baseball at Dean's Field or standing on the corner at Del' s Bar watching all the girls go by and even starting a quartet, The Four Dads, and making a recording. After being drafted into the Army 2nd Armored Division in 1954, John was stationed in Mannheim, Germany where he made many friends and visited many places. When he returned home John worked for the City of Pittsburgh 3rd Division for 35 years before retiring in 1998. Through the years, John always attended Steeler and Pirate games, enjoyed golfing, bowling, the casinos, was an avid reader and history buff. John also enjoyed traveling with Toni to many places and also partying with their close and loving friends (The Dirty Dozen). Thanks for all the wonderful memories John. Family and friends are welcomed at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Monday, November 22, 2021 form 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Angels Parish, St. Augustine Church on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph's House of Hospitality, 1635 Bedford Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
