Age 94, of Highland Park, on Friday, May 19, 2023. Beloved wife of the late William J. Mischler; loving mother of Michael G. Mischler, Mary Beth Niksic (Kemal), Jeanne M. Laird (Tom), Barbara A. Rossi (Dave) and Steven E. Mischler (Shannon); cherished grandmother of T.J., Jenny (Matt), Paula, Jamie, Troy, Jack, Mary Rose, Will, Sead, Peter, Amila and Eva; devoted great-grandmother of Hazel and Miles; dear sister of Mercy (Don) Staudt, the late Mary Kay, Peg, Alice, Rosemary, Ross, Leo and Sam; sister-in-law of Jack V. Mischler; also survived by countless nieces and nephews.

Jeanne attended the University of Pittsburgh at 16 years of age and was a proud graduate of the School of Education where she studied to become an expert early childhood educator. She was a dedicated kindergarten teacher for over 40 years, spending most of her time teaching at Sacred Heart Elementary School. Jeanne was a lifelong parishioner and volunteer at Sacred Heart Church where she had attended high school and was married to her beloved husband, Bill, of 60 years.

Jeanne was very proud of her certification as a Master Gardener. She maintained a gorgeous backyard garden in Highland Park where her grandchildren spent the best times of their childhood. Jeanne cherished her time in the garden and vacationing at Stone Harbor each August with her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcomed at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Parish, Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
