Jan "John"
Tryczynski
September 22, 1952 – May 27, 2026
Jan "John" Tryczynski, age 73, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026. Born in Leżajsk, Poland, to the late Kazimierz and Antonina Tryczyński, John lived a life defined by his hard work, rich traditions, and love of his family.
In 1973, John married Christine "Krystna" H (Kupras) Tryczynski. They built a new life together in America, welcoming their daughter, Christina "Tina", in 1976.
A gifted pastry chef and baker, John's career spanned 50 years, having started working at just 12 years old. He genuinely loved food and was an exceptional cook at home, with a particular fondness for Polish and Italian cuisine - though he only enjoyed it from the restaurants and people that met his standards. A true night owl, John always loved to mark a special event or milestone with a celebratory shot and a cold Polish beer.
John’s legacy continues through his daughter, Tina (Pesci), and her husband, Christopher (“Chris”) P. Pesci. The absolute center of his world was his grandchildren - Evalina, Elleanora, and Lorenzo Pesci - the most important people in his life. Nothing brought John more joy than using his culinary talents to bake special, unforgettable birthday cakes for them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kazimierz and Antonina Tryczyński; his beloved wife, Christine "Krystna" Tryczynski; his brother, Andrzej Tryczyński; his sister, Ewa Kurdziel; and his brother-in-law, Edward Puc.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina, and her husband, Chris; his grandchildren, Evalina, Elleanora, and Lorenzo; his sister, Krystyna Puc; his sister-in-law, Krystyna Tryczyńska (wife of his late brother, Andrzej); and his brother-in-law, Janusz Kurdziel (husband of his late sister, Ewa).
John received much love, care, friendship, and support from the wonderful staff of Whitehall Borough Post Acute Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. John enjoyed wheeling around the halls talking to all the staff, nurses, patients and visitors there, jokingly giving them a hard time and bringing joy to their day.
John will be fondly remembered and missed by his family and friends whose lives he touched over the years.
