Age 72, of Whitehall, formerly of Bloomfield, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024. Beloved wife of George R. Ryan; loving mother of Heather (Jeremy) Simpson and Christopher (Amy) Mavrodis; cherished grandmother of Dylan J. Simpson, Daylen J. Mavrodis, Justin A. Simpson, Danica J. Mavrodis and Abigail M. Simpson; dear sister of Michael (Kathleen) Donatelli and the late Daniel Donatelli; also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Fran spent decades working in the Office of Special Education for the Pittsburgh Public School District. She was an award-winning maker of plastic canvas projects, had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to her beautiful garden. She was a dedicated pet parent to many sheltered cats and dogs including Odie, Marble, Mickey, Amelia, and Snoball, as well as donated funds to the ASPCA to give all animals the chance to find a loving home.

Frances loved to read, going to the movies and spending time with family and friends.
