Dorothy L. "Miss Dot" Kotlowski (D'Amico), a beacon of warmth and kindness, peacefully passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 98, in her beloved Bloomfield home, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born with a heart full of compassion, Dorothy was the cherished wife of the late John P. Kotlowski. Theirs was a love story woven with shared laughter and unwavering devotion. She was the loving mother of John F. Kotlowski (Darlene Kotlowski), and the devoted "Gram" to John T. Kotlowski (Shawna Kotlowski) and Lauren Chiodo (Joseph Chiodo), who were the lights of her life.
Dorothy was the daughter of the late Frank and Louise (Vecchiarella) D'Amico, and sister to the late Jennie Cecchetti (Dante Cicchetti) and Frank D'Amico (Helen D'Amico). Her family was the foundation upon which she built a life of unwavering love and support.
For over 25 years, "Miss Dot" poured her heart into volunteering at Immaculate Conception School, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless students. Her dedication to education and her gentle spirit made her a cherished figure within the school community. She was also a valued and hardworking employee at General Tire for many years, where she was known for her diligence and positive attitude.
On South Pacific Avenue, Dorothy was more than just a neighbor; she was the heart of the community. Affectionately dubbed the "Mayor" of the street, she was a constant source of support, friendship, and unwavering kindness. Her door was always open, and her heart was always ready to help.
Dorothy was an inspiration to everyone she met. Her words, wisdom, and boundless love for life will continue to resonate through the students she taught, the neighbors she supported, and the family she loved unconditionally. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will live on forever. She will be truly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
