Age 75, of Oakland, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023. Loving husband for 50 years of Josie I. (Biedrzycki) O'Brien, who was the love of his life; cherished dad of D.J. (Tiffany) O'Brien, Matthew (Allison) O'Brien, and Melanie (Matthew) O'Brien-Matta; proud pap of Aria O'Brien, Oliver O'Brien, Molly O'Brien, and Axel Matta; son of the late Michael and Sophie (Stopa) O'Brien; brother of Michael (Mary Ellen) O'Brien and Richard (the late Alice) O'Brien; also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Dennis was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1967, from there he went on to United States Postal Service and was the most popular mailman in Oakland for 40 years. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to his Pitt Panthers. Denny loved the game of golf and enjoyed the company of his many friends and family. Summers were spent playing softball and meeting at the SOD with his friends. Summers with family were spent relaxing at Canadohta Lake. He was an excellent story-teller and loved to share the things he experienced throughout his wonderful life while enjoying a cold, crisp Iron City.

ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME , 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Jude Parish, St. Raphael Church on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, in his honor the family request that you please take your spouse or loved one out to dinner.
