Dalan Scott Zydel, 33 years, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on September 18th, 2026.

He was born on November 2nd, 1992 in Pittsburgh to David Zydel and Pamela Depenhart and a proud older brother to Austin Zydel. From an early age, he was altruistic, fearless, and kind. Dalan had a rare ability to make everyone feel welcomed, loved and at home. His positive spirit never wavered, and his strength and determination carried him through even the most difficult days. His outlook on life was an inspiration to all those who knew him.

He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. His military service was an important part of who he was, and he carried that pride and commitment throughout his life. He being a disabled veteran found his life’s purpose while pursuing higher education. His passion was helping his fellow veterans achieve whole health and wellness to become better versions of themselves.

Above all else, Dalan was a devoted husband and father. He shared 8 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jessica Zydel, and was the proud father of his 4-year-old daughter, Theodora Zydel. His greatest joy was watching his little girl fearlessly master her scooter while he rode next her on his skateboard. He cherished being a girl dad and spoiling his ladies. The amazon driver loved visiting our house to deliver all the packages multiple times a week.

He will be remembered for his boundless kindness, thoughtfulness, humor, and strength. He leaves behind countless memories with the people who loved him and his legacy will continue to live on with those who were blessed to be a part of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica, his daughter Theodora, and his loyal fur baby, Mika.

Family and friends are welcomed at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Monday, September 28, 2026 from 2pm to 8pm. Funeral Service at Mount Royal Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 2700 Mount Royal Boulevard, Glenshaw, PA 15116 on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 11:00 am. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CEMETERY MAUSOLEUM CHAPEL.
