Age 49, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Survived by her husband James Schmitt. Daughter of the late Reed George Grounds. Daughter of Patti Septak and Stepfather Dave Septak. Sisters Kimberly (John) Grounds, Dana (Vinnie) Falgione, Susie (Ray) Kranak, Jessica (Steve) Costa, Step-siblings Lisa Septak, Jennifer (Joey Sr.) Argenas, Brian Septak, and Davey Septak. Brother-in-law Johnny Schmitt. Survived by many nieces and nephews Alex Shehand, Taylor Kranak, Nikki Inzinga, Steven Costa, Jorja Costa, Ashley Ruben, Joey Argenas Jr., Brittany Ruben, and Savannah Argenas. Also survived by many loved great nieces and nephews Mya, Ava, Max, Jaxson, Mylee and Mason.

Christie was a beautiful soul who made every person she encountered smile. She enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Christie loved her family, but we loved her even more. We lost an angel from this earth and we will miss her dearly.

Family and friends are welcomed at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 2-8 p.m. and Monday, March 18, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until time of burial at 10:00 a.m. at Allegheny Cemetery.
