Carol Golebiewski, age 67, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 18, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Kathryn (Stevulak) and Bill Thompson.  Beloved wife of 41 years to Brian Golebiewski. Loving mother of Sherry (Ethan) Frantz, and Erica Golebiewski.  Sister to Dianna (Bob) Williams, Barbara Thompson, Linda (Mike) Diskin, Kathleen Fashion, Francie Thompson, and Pauline (Nick) Calabrese. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and her loyal Belgian Malinois shepherd, Revlon.

Throughout her life, Carol always put others before herself and was quick to lend a hand, share advice or give a comforting hug. No one will forget her beautiful smile, red lipstick or great sense of style.

She loved the beach. Carol never missed an opportunity to soak up the sun and enjoy the water. She was incredibly talented and creative, especially with sewing. She was such a good seamstress that she tailored clothes for herself and for anyone who asked. She loved concerts, dancing, art, baking and all the things that make life fulfilling. She lived her life in the present.

Carol was a member of St. Pio Pietrelcina Parish of Lawrenceville.  She graduated from Carlow University, earned a Masters Degree in Education at Gannon University, and was a teacher at several schools, including Pittsburgh Public Schools, for over 20 years. Before that, she was the best stay at home mom to her two daughters. Being a mother was truly her calling, and that came through to everyone she met and nurtured throughout her life. She was as generous and caring as a person could be.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 2 - 8 p.m. at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, at 216 44th St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, 11:30 a.m. at St. Pio Pietrelcina Parish - St. Augustine Catholic Church in Lawrenceville – 225 37th St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201.

Interment at Allegheny Cemetery.
