Beverly will be remembered as a hard working single mother who raised three children alone after the untimely death of her beloved husband, Richard, in 1974. Her children could always lean on her for support, love, care, long conversations and advice. Beverly graduated from California State University of Pennsylvania and was a school teacher until her first pregnancy. After the unexpected death of her young husband, Beverly stayed home as long as possible to raise her small children. She would eventually take a night shift job as a housekeeper at UPMC so she could be at home for her kids before and after school and during the summer. When the children were older she took a second job working at Toys R Us for many years to make ends meet. Her joy and passion was in knowing she was the dependable matriarch to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by the 3 children who owe her everything: Richard S. Bandy (Patricia) of Rockville, MD, Elizabeth D. Cain (John) of Elizabeth, PA, and Stephen B. Senich of Munhall, PA. The grandchildren she loved and was so proud of: Richard A. Bandy of Morehead City, NC, Alexa A. Senich of New Castle, PA, Ryan J. Cain, and Rylie E. Cain of Elizabeth, PA. It is our hope that she is reunited in heaven with all of those who preceded her in death, but especially the love of her life Richard J. Bandy, whom she married in 1967.
There will be no formal memorial service or visitation; in lieu of flowers or donations, please do a random act of kindness. Beverly always loved talking to new people she met - make someone's day by saying a nice word or doing a small, kind gesture for a stranger in her memory.
