Anne J. Robb

Died peacefully at the age of 90, with her family at home on 363 South Highland Avenue, on October 29th, 2023. She was born Anne Judith to Clara and Louis Lief on December 31, 1932 in Brooklyn NY. Anne earned several advanced Degrees: a Master of Arts in English literature from University of Pittsburgh and a Doctorate in Drama and Theater History from Carnegie Mellon University. Anne was a theater critic for the Pittsburgh Point newspaper and produced the North Bank Theater. She was a full time professor at Pennsylvania State University, and later taught at Community College of Allegheny County, and at Duquesne University; and a professor for three years at Lehman University's CUNY campus in Hiroshima, Japan. There she learned theJapanese art of flower arranging, which she pursued throughout her life. Anne was socially active in civic outreach at Calvary Episcopal Church and had recently joined the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer.

She is survived by her daughter Rachel Youens (through her marriage to Frederic S. Youens), her son-in-law Maury Hutcheson and her granddaughter ClaraYouens; and by her step son Daniel Robb (second marriage toCharles Robb), his wife Maia Porter and their children Alexandra and Evan.

Anne's Funeral service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, on Friday November 17th, at 10:00AM where the Very Reverend Patrick Molloy, Dean of the Cathedral Church of St John the Divine, NYC will give the sermon.
